Athlone in Westmeath is the urban capital of the Irish Midlands and can be easily accessed from Dublin, Galway, Sligo, Limerick, and Cork through a great road network.

On arrival to Athlone visit the Norman Castle in the town centre and learn about the history of the town and the importance it played dating back to 1129.

The town of Athlone offers many things to any visitor to the area and with direct access to the River Shannon it is great location for those who love sailing, wind surfing and canoeing.
